Bellflower High School Memorial Page for:
Irene Park - Class of 1968

Memorial Message:
I first met Irene when we were in fifth or sixth grade at Ramona Elementary. She and Janet Messer lived on Flower Street and we were very close. Irene, her brother Laurie (also BHS alumni) and their mother opened the first Broasted Chicken "Place" during our high school years. After graduation we went our different ways but stayed in touch. Although I lived in Texas whenever I went "home" to Bellflower I would get together with Irene. It was only about 7 or 8 years after we graduated that she was diagnosed with MS. Irene remained positive all through the years. In 1980 she came to Texas and my husband Jerry, my two children Jerry Jr., and Patti (yep, that's right) looked after her for about three months while her mother underwent and recuperated from triple bipass surgery. Back then it was not quite like it is today. We lost Irene about five years ago. Her mother passed away about 3 or 4 years prior to her. She continued her life in a nursing home in the Bellflower area. She had one of the worst cases of MS that I have ever seen, yet never complained. She knew the Lord, and is with the Lord. She was a blessing to many, especially me.
